Apostolos Makrigiannis was born in Athens, Greece, in 1964. He is a Civil Engineer, graduate of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA, 1986). He holds an MSc. Degree from the Imperial College, University of London.
He received a Scholarship from the Onassis Foundation for post-graduate studies (academic year 1987-88). Since 1990 he has been active in executive management positions in important Greek and multinational companies, in the areas of general construction, consulting engineering as well as trading of special construction equipment.
He is member of several Greek and International Associations in the areas of concrete technology, engineering seismology, bridge design and construction. He is also active as business consultant, specializing in topics such as construction safety techniques and materials, special concrete structures and sales management.
He has given many lectures in conferences and workshops on issues related to his areas of activity. He is currently working as Commercial Director of Elin Technical SA Construction Company, a subsidiary of the Petroleum and Energy Group ELINOIL. He speaks and writes fluently Greek, English, German, French.
