Rania Antonopoulou is an economist with a PhD from the New School for Social Research, USA. Until recently she was consultant to the United Nations on macroeconomic policy and gender equality issues. She has also served as director of the department “Economy, Labor Market and Gender” of the Levy Economics Institute, associate researcher at the INE-GSEE, Economics professor at New York University and a visiting professor at the Shanghai Academy of Science and at Barnard College of Columbia University. She has written books and essays on issues of economy, crisis and gender. She was appointed Alternate Minister for Combating Unemployment by decision of the Prime Minister.
